FLOW
Akış
2019-2021
video installation, LED screen, excavations
While working on urban transformation, spatial violence, violence aimed at identity by targeting memory and the concept of spacio-cide, the artist encountered a waterfall and recorded it on video. The grainy, black and white video flows continuously on the surface of a television screen, as if from an antenna with poor reception. Rising on the rubble from the debris of a demolished building, the grainy image is inspired by the fluidity of concrete as a material and recalls the power of architectural regimes. The installation emphasizes the relationship between uncertainty and flow, opening up a mental space of refuge.
